Isopod - Cirolanid
Share
ID:
Tiny white, greyish, bug looking critters that will attach to fish. Noticeable dark eyes.
Tips:
Cirolanid Isopods are a temporary fish nuisance. They will not reproduce in an aquarium. They will age out. They will not kill fish. Peppermint shrimps and other cleaner shrimp are known to eat them. Various wrasses will eat them. If you can't wait it out, then try hunting at night with a net or turkey baster. Amazon sells clear glass traps for leeches, bristle worms, and planaria; load one up with a meaty morsel. Fresh water dipping the fish will remove the isopod. Please research safe freshwater dipping methods. (FWIW, that's my clown. I spied a few tiny isopods for 2wks and then they disappeared. -Wen)
