Share
ID:
Streamlined body for fast swimming. Carapace is usually flattened and broader than long, the greatest width between the two lateral spines. They have a series of spines along the lateral margins and between the orbits of the carapace. Pincers are pointed and large, usually with spines, to snag and capture fast moving prey. We see them in pale shades. Up to 3".
Tips:
Swimming crabs are opportunistic omnivore feeders. They are easy to catch with a net. Best to rehome or feed them to predatory fish.
