Mithrax pleuracanthus -Shaggy Clinging Crabs are from TBS farm. Blunt claws are used consuming algae and debris from live rock. Mithrax crabs play a crucial role in controlling algae on ocean reefs. nocturnal cleaners actively search for algae, meticulously cleaning around coral without posing a threat to fish. Mithrax crabs will eat ugly hair algae, fish pellets, nori, clams on the half shell and macro algae. They make an interesting display tank creature or do well in refugiums and sumps.

Most crabs are omnivores so as it grows keep it fed.

Mithrax crabs are reddish brown with pastel tipped blunt claws.

Sizes from 1" - 3".

Note blunt claws are perfect for scraping bits of algae off rock. They tend to hang out under rocks hidden from predators. They will eat bubble, hair algae, macro algae, fish foods and pick through detritus.

Stable parameters and good water quality will keep them alive for many years. These crabs do well in groups and add diversity to a clean-up crew.

Air cargo orders are ready for airport pickup on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. UPS orders arrive to your door on Tuesdays and Saturday is best for local pick up.

For safety's sake, we require confirmation of arrival details before shipping live products. We will text or email you to confirm the estimated arrival date.

Weather conditions on harvest days and/or shipping days may cause a delay. We appreciate your flexibility.

Tracking information is sent AFTER boxes have been checked in at Tampa International Airport or Treasure Chests handed to UPS. It is your responsibility to pick up boxes from the airport and to be home for UPS delivery.
