Mexicana Caulerpa is one of our favorite hitchhikers. It has a striking deep green blade that grow to be 6″ in the holding system.
Depending on the season, various types of macro can be found clinging to our live rock. Red, Green and Brown are the common colors. Macros are a good thing! Beautiful in the display and equally useful in a refugium. Macro algae improves water quality by absorbing nutrients, makes for a happy tang gang, many inverts will eat it and it provides a safe haven for pods. Macroalgae for the win!
Macroalgae requires good water flow, solid lighting and a nutrient rich system.
